How we play and learn KS1/Year 1/Autumn 1 PSHE lesson.
Created with a view to being delivered in the first half-term of the year, this lesson explores the different ways that children play and learn, and the reasons why it is important to balance our time between a variety of activities.
In this lesson, the children will learn about different kinds of play including indoor, outdoor, alone, with others, using equipment, or using your imagination. We will reflect on the importance of balancing screen-based activities with other types of play and highlight the importance of imaginative play.

What is a habit? Primary PSHE lesson for KS2.
Introduction to healthy and unhealthy habits PSHE lesson. A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the contents of the lesson are suitable for students across KS2.
In this lesson, the students will investigate different types of habits and the positive and negative effects that they can have on our health. We will look at the benefits of maintaining health routines such as handwashing, eating healthy food, regular exercise and getting enough sleep. We will also discuss unhealthy habits such as too much screen time, eating too much sugar or junk food, and staying up too late.

Healthy Food / Healthy Eating EYFS PSHE lesson.

Privacy and unwanted touch - KS1 PSHE
A collection of PSHE resources that have been created to cover the ‘Relationships’ strand of the PSHE Association’s Programme of Study for KS1.
In particular, the resources in this bundle focus on keeping private parts private and the correct way to respond to an unsafe or unwanted touch.

All about bodies (Year 1)
This lesson introduces the correct terminology for private body parts and discusses what it means to keep our private parts private.
My body belongs to me (Year 1)
This lesson explores different kinds of physical contact including wanted and unwanted forms of touch.The students will be introduced to the swimwear unsafe touch safety rule and we will discuss the correct way to respond to an unsafe or unwanted touch.
Asking for permission (Year 1)
This lesson explores the concept of asking for permissions and the various scenarios where it is polite to do so. We will discuss consent in an age appropriate context (specifically asking permission before giving someone a hug or stroking a cat or dog.)
Brilliant Bodies (Year 2 - Free Download)
This health lesson explores the correct scientific terms for a variety of body parts, including private body parts (penis, testicles and vulva). We will also revisit safe and unsafe touch including the ‘swimwear’ safety rule.
Secrets and surprised
This lesson explores harmful secrets and happy surprises with a particular focus on unsafe touch and what to do if you ever feel pressure to keep something unsafe or upsetting a secret.
Each lesson includes a variety of fun and creative activities, plus enough teaching materials to last at least an hour.
The resources are also suitable for use in schools who have opted to follow the PSHE Association’s Thematic Model for KS1.

Conception and making babies: what happens when egg and sperm meet?
This is the fourth lesson in our Year 6 unit on puberty, genes, and the human lifecycle.
In this lesson, we will recap our Year 5 science lessons, where we learned about reproduction in mammals, before delving deeper as we apply this knowledge to humans and how reproduction plays a key role in the human life cycle.
We will look at the role of the male and female sex cells (gametes) and how their union leads to a genetically unique offspring that inherits traits from each parent.
Please note that this lesson predominantly focuses on the scientific aspects of reproduction, with a particular focus on fertilisation and conception.
While sexual intercourse is briefly mentioned, it is not taught in detail. This topic will, however, be revisited when we learn about loving and intimate relationships later on in the school year.
